Talking about this price point, the smartphone will directly compete with the latest OnePlus 5. The 6GB RAM variant is priced Rs 32,999, while the 8GB RAM comes with a price tag of Rs 37,999. Though the smartphone comes loaded with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, Honor 8 Pro has a lot to offer. The Honor 8 Pro is quite a slim smartphone measuring a mere 6.9mm in thickness. To give you perspective, the OnePlus 5 is 7.3mm thick. Now that isn’t a world of a difference, but when you consider the fact that the OnePlus 5 has a 3300mAh battery compared to the Honor 8 Pro’s 4000mAh battery, then you should be impressed. The Honor 8 Pro is only slightly taller than the OnePlus 5, and that is because it houses a 5.7-inch display to the front with a 2560x1440p resolution. The OnePlus 5 has a 5.5-inch 1080p display. Yes, the OnePlus 5 has the edge with Gorilla Glass 5 but the Honor 8 Pro also sports Gorilla Glass 3. Talking about camera, the dual camera setup on the Honor 8 Pro, it sports two 12-megapixel sensors with f/2.2 aperture, laser autofocus, LED flash, and 4K video recording. One sensor takes the images in RGB while the other takes them in monochrome. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel sensor for taking selfies as well. Coming to the hardware specifications, the Honor 8 Pro runs on the Kirin 960 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage, expandable by another 128GB, thanks to the hybrid SIM card slot. Expandable storage is not something we have seen on the OnePlus 5 which gives users 64GB of storage in the base variant. How the Kirin 960 performs against the Snapdragon 835 platform is something we have to look out for. For a final verdict, both the devices give a neck and neck competition. On one side, we have the Honor 8 Pro looks more premium, has more storage, better display and comes with a better battery backup, while on the other side we have the OnePlus 5 sports the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It is still debatable on the camera performance of both the devices, but overall, Honor 8 Pro looks more promising, at least on paper. What do you guys think about this upcoming device?
